Adding some vanilla-sugar is one of my favorite ways to spice up a recipe. Where ordinary sugar might seem dull and uninspired, the simple addition of vanilla-sugar gives any dish an extra sense of wow! Best of all, it only takes a few minutes to make.
Also, please do not go to the store and spend $4.00 on one vanilla bean. You can find very affordable vanilla beans online.
Vanilla Sugar
PREP TIME: 10 minutes
YIELD: 4 cups
WHAT TO GRAB:
1-Quart Mason Jar
4 Bourbon vanilla beans, 7″ or 8″ long
4 cups granulated sugar
HOW YOU DO IT:
Split the vanilla beans down the middle (long-wise), and add the caviar and the beans to the sugar. Shake the jar a few times, and then use the vanilla sugar from everything to buttermilk plum pancakes, to ginger-peach Italian Ice!

That sounds delicious. I don’t know my squashes very well so I’m not sure what a buttercup squash looks like, but I’m sure I can figure it out.
